XC TRAINING IN JINDABYNE - TERM 4

17 Nov 2023 by NSWACT XC

As you may know NSWACT XC has the Track and the Paddock booked for the summer and autumn at the NSTC (otherwise know as Jindabyne Sport and Rec) on Monday and Thursday afternoons at 4:45pm and Saturdays at 9am. That has been good for those who want to keep up their fitness and practice their rollerskiing skills.

Now, local Super-XC Athletes have offered to join in some of those sessions and share their amazing skills and knowledge with those who would like to have in-person support or who would like to try out the dryland training activities. Their enthusiasm for XC skiing is matched by skills and experience that they are offering to share with you.The activities will not all necessarily be roller skiing, so be prepared for whatever each coach brings to the session.

Sessions scheduled so far:
- 20 and 27 November, Monday afternoons – Meet Alina at the S&R track for a 4:45 start.
- 18 and 25 November, Saturday mornings – Meet Valdis at the S&R track for a 9am start
- 2 December, Saturday morning – Meet Ant at the S&R track for a 9am start

AND AS A BONUS, ACT has offered to loan Roller Skiing equipment to NSWACT XC for those who don’t have roller skis and/or have friends who would like to try roller skiing.

Jindabyne Sport and Rec Facilities Pass – There will be no charge for the Term 4 sessions, but to participate you will need a current yearly Facilities Pass. They can be purchased from the S&R Office.

RSVP – Training Notices are set up on NSWACT XC Team App. Please RSVP. If you know people who are interested but are not on the Team App list, please pass this information on and list their names on the RSVP with a comment about their age and level of experience.

Assistance is needed to:
- Take charge of the borrowed rollerski equipment locally?
- Look after the first aid kit (with a first aid kit) and apply first aid (if required) at each session.

Please respond ASAP to nswxc1@gmail.com if you are interested in attending the coached dryland training sessions and if you can provide some kind of support. We are being offered a generous gift. It would be great to respond by embracing the opportunity and seeing where it can lead over the summer.

Support this great opportunity for NSWACT XC skiers of all ages and for people new to the activity to come-and-try. It is important to have as much participation and support as possible. If the interest is great enough, it could continue in Term 1 next year.
