INTRODUCING…. COLIN FERRIE, 2025 NSWACT XC WINTER PROGRAM COACH

14 May by NSWACT XC

NSWACT XC is excited to introduce Colin Ferrie as the 2025 Winter Program Coach. He is an experienced competitive athlete and is currently the Co-Head Coach of the Kimberly BC (Canada) Nordic Club. He is also a practicing kinesiologist and member of the BC Wildfire Service. For the snow grooming nerds, he was the mapping lead and support person for Nordic Pulse.

Colin says, “I’ve been skiing since I was 3 years old. Growing up in Kimberley, we had long winters which cemented my love for the sport. Once I finished high school, I didn’t know what I wanted to do for education so I pursued skiing at a high level for 5 years, having the opportunity to represent Canada at the under-23 World Championships. During these years, I gained an interest in the human body and training adaptations leading to doing a degree in Exercise and Health Physiology at the University of Calgary. Towards the end of my degree, I began coaching the next generation of Kimberley cross country skiers! I’ve continued my enjoyment of cross country skiing and still like to jump in on a race every now and then.
I’m really excited to share my passion, knowledge and experience with you all!”

Colin arrives in Australia early in June and will hit the ground running with Alexei at dryland training sessions, especially at the 2025 Jindabyne June Long Weekend Camp. NSWACT XC looks forward to all members of the XC community welcoming Colin to the distinctive world of Australian XC skiing.
