NORTHERN TRAINING OPPORTUNITIES - A SELECTION OF VERY DIFFERENT OPTIONS

27 Sep by NSWACT XC

Are you thinking of travelling to Canada this summer to ski? COLIN AND THE KIMBERLEY NORDIC CLUB have opportunities to ski at our world class and FIS level trails with our Junior Development Team. You can take part in activities varying from small local events, to large competitive events such as the Western Canadian Championships.

Kimberley is situated in the Southeast of British Columbia on the edge of the Purcell Mountains looking across to the mighty Rocky Mountains. With downhill skiing, cross country skiing, fat-biking and more just 5 minutes from downtown, the town makes for a full winter experience.

To participate in programs, you will need to purchase a Kimberley Nordic membership and enrol in a daily or weekly programming https://www.kimberleynordic.org/kncmembership

ALEXEI IS ALSO A GREAT SOURCE OF ADVICE FOR OPPORTUNITIES TO TRAIN IN THE NEW ENGLAND AREA of the US and in Europe. He can connect you with XC athletes who have combined their training with schooling during the northern winter. He also has long-term familiarity with everywhere that you can XC ski and train in Europe. As always, he is happy to chat informally about opportunities to train, develop, compete and just to ski in exotic places! nswactxc@gmail.com

Not for the juniors, but possibly interesting to their adult families and friends – The 2026 MASTERS XC WORLD CUP IN SAPPADA, Italy will host a large contingent of Australian skiers. You don’t need to be a champion skier to have fun with this group. Contact Peter Lambert for information – peterllambert@icloud.com
