The KAC Charlotte Pass Residential Camp is on again, running from the Monday of the October long weekend (1 October) until Saturday 6 October. 5 nights accommodation at KAC Charlotte Pass, all meals and coaching included. $550 per child. Open to all children – if you are not already a member of NSWXC, you will need to join NSWXC before attending the camp.
Minimum age is 10 years. A house parent (Fiona Wright – KAC Member and the housemother of last year’s camp) will once again oversee the residential side of the program and all the coaches will live in. All ability levels catered for, although there is an expectation that you have actually been on XC skis before, and have some basic XC ski skills.
The coaching line up includes two time Winter Olympian Phil Bellingham (AUS), Iris Pessey (FRA), triple Winter Olympian Carla Zijlstra (NED), Rob Bath (AUS) and other familiar faces from previous years. Nathan Guiness from ACT Orienteering will also be in attendance to introduce the kids to ski orienteering and set a SkiO course(s) during the week.
This is your chance to ski to the top of Mt Koscuisko, explore the Main Range, cross the Snowy River, learn some back country skills, try ski orienteering, build a snow cave, do some yoga – anything but ski on groomed trails or race.
If you wish to attend, please RSVP and make payment via the Store on NSWXC Team App by no later than Saturday 15 September.
